REVIEW: Need You Now (Martha’s Way Series #2) by Mika Jolie

Adam and Liliana met when Lily visited her best friend, Minka, on Martha’s Vineyard following her breakup from her cheating ex-fiancé. Sparks fly immediately between Lily and Adam. They tried to cover the attraction with snarky banter but once they stopped verbally sparring, those sparks transferred to the bedroom. A year later, Adam and Lily are still going strong despite their long distance and very different careers. Lily buries her desires for more from Adam, knowing that Adam isn’t looking for anything serious. Adam, OTOH, is A-OK with their friends with benefits arrangement. That is until an unplanned pregnancy enters stage right.

Now Lily is staying with Adam on Martha’s Vineyard preparing for the wedding of their friends, Minka and Jason. Adam and Lily were a roller coaster of drama and emotions. I enjoyed every minute of it! Adam…oh Adam! He was a mysterious, sexy, alpha hero. Adam had some deep, dark secrets that hold him back from letting Lily all the way in. I really felt Adam’s pain and struggle with his demons. I so enjoyed his transformation from clueless to realizing that he couldn’t live without Lily.

I had major girl crush for Liliana! Y’all already know how much I love a fiery heroine and alpha hero combo! Lily gave Adam a run for his money! She made him WORK to win her. Lily was not willing to settle just because Adam was her baby’s daddy. She deserved the whole kit and caboodle. We also meet Lily’s family.  Adding to the other hotties in this series, we meet Lily’s three brothers…

Liliana’s big bro, Rafael though…

I’m usually here for over-protective siblings but Rafael went above and beyond the call of duty. I hope Ms. Jolie has a book planned for Rafael in the future because I need to know his story.

Ok, now that that’s out of my system, back to our regular programming…

Need You Now was a well-written, emotionally charged and sexy story with a believable plot and complex protagonists. The backdrop of another wedding on Martha’s Vineyard gave us opportunity to spend time with the other friends in this close knit group and learn more about Adam’s past. I’m eagerly moving on to the next installment with Claire and Forrest.
